Equestrian brand Masta is celebrating 50 years of keeping horses warm and protected with the release of a nostalgic limited edition range: the Masta icons collection.
Designed in Yorkshire, the sister brand to Harry Hall has been a mainstay in British yards since 1976. To mark its golden anniversary, Masta turned to its customer base to identify four of its most memorable and beloved rug designs, giving them a contemporary revival engineered for modern performance.
Leading the limited edition capsule is the Regal stable rug (£89.95), a long-standing bestseller first introduced in 1999 that retains its distinctive high-collar silhouette. Equine cooler enthusiasts will recognise the return of the patriotic CoolMasta rug (£79.95) – a design that originally hit the pages of the Masta catalogue in 1996, now refreshed for 2026 with its classic red, white, and navy stripes.
For stable or travel wear, the checked fleece rug (£42.95) draws directly from Masta’s extensive design archives, combining traditional tonal brown shades with contemporary houndstooth and over-check detailing. Completing the quartet is the VentoPlus turnout rug (£75.95–£89.95), inspired by Masta’s very first printed turnout from 1999 and updated in both 200g and 300g weights.
Alice Ross-Parry, head of design at Harry Hall, highlighted the brand’s focus on equine comfort and solving everyday management problems faced by riders.
“For 50 years, Masta has been trusted by generations of horses and riders, providing quality rugs and protection through every season,” she said. “As we celebrate this milestone, we’re proud to honour our heritage while continuing to create products that put horses’ comfort and wellbeing first.
“For the icons collection, we wanted to delve into the archives and bring back some of our bestselling designs that our loyal customers will remember, while giving them a new lease of life through contemporary materials and performance. Nine in 10 horse owners experience rug-related problems – from fit, slipping, and rubbing to leaking or mane damage – and we’ve spent five decades developing practical solutions to make horse care simpler.”
