Equestrian Stockholm has launched Black Blush, a winter riding collection in black and muted pink, to support the non-profit organisation Ride Against Cancer.
The Swedish online equestrian brand has a history of supporting the fight against breast cancer after one of its team members, Mika Thalen, was diagnosed with the disease in 2016.
Mika founded Ride Against Cancer, which is part of the Swedish Breast Cancer Association, after finding comfort in horses during her treatment and recovery. All money raised for the cause goes towards research into cancer and patient support.
Breast Cancer Awareness month
Each October during Breast Cancer Awareness month, Equestrian Stockholm offers discounted prices on all its pink products and launches a winter collection in aid of the initiative. A percentage of the profit of all sold items during the month is donated to Ride Against Cancer.
For riders, highlights of this year’s Black Blush collection include a short winter riding jacket, fleece-lined gloves and fleece-lined winter tights. For horses, the collection contains a fleece head collar, a quilted saddle pad and a fleece horse blanket with a soft faux fur collar.
“Our partnership with Ride Against Cancer spans nearly 10 years, which we are incredibly proud of. We know that horses have a unique ability to heal and bring comfort, and for us, it has always been a given to lift this initiative and contribute to the fight against cancer,” says Johanna Von Sydow, CEO and founder of Equestrian Stockholm.
