These smart and practical stirrup covers from Finer Equine do a great job of protecting your saddle from marks and scratches. My saddle is made from very soft leather and my stirrups were leaving dents in it when I ran them up after riding. Since using these covers, though, I no longer have this problem.

The clever design of these stirrup covers is different to others I’ve used in the past; you can run up your stirrups and thread your leathers through the eyelet so they are neat and tidy. It also stops your stirrup leathers getting scratched if you have cheese-grater treads on your stirrup irons.

The backing on the covers is soft-faux sheepskin that provides protection to the leather of your saddle, and the outer material is waterproof.

The stirrup covers are elasticated at the top. This makes them a little fiddly to get on and off, but holds them neatly and securely in place.

These stirrup covers are not the cheapest, but they do look really smart, are good quality and after two-and-a-half-years of use they are still in good condition. The soft-faux sheepskin is a little grubby these days, but more importantly my saddle is looking great.
