3Donkeys Exmoor Country Coverall

First impressions

It’s a smart navy coverall and has lot of attractive additional features compared to my old, very basic, unlined (and not waterproof!) overalls I had been wearing for mucking out. I was impressed with the option of detaching the coat, plus there were plenty of pockets, which always come in handy.

The coverall is flattering and very comfortable. I ordered a size 12 and I would say it’s true to size. The length is just right and I’m 5’6″.

With a mild start to autumn I wasn’t sure when I would start being able to put the coverall to the test, but found myself reaching for it on one particularly wet morning and loved it so much, I’ve used it pretty much every day since. It keeps you completely dry and warm, and makes jobs around the yard seem much more bearable when the weather is bad. I’m sure it will really come into it’s own when the weather worsens!

I’ve worn it for clipping, mucking out and other yard jobs, as well as for wet, muddy dog walks. There’s lots of pockets, large ones on the legs of the trousers as well as in the jacket. It’s quick and easy to chuck on over other clothes, keeping what your wearing underneath clean and tidy should you have to dash off to work, the shops, or school run straight from the yard.

I’ve worn it in very heavy rain and it stayed completely waterproof and no rain snuck up the arms thanks to the lycra inner sleeve. The big hood keeps your head dry too.

Value for money

It’s not cheap, but my budget coverall I used previously just doesn’t compare. Owning a horse or pony in the winter can be a labour of love, and very challenging at times, so I think something like this which makes us feel more comfortable during those cold, wet days has got to be a blessing.
