Redwings Horse Sanctuary has announced TV personality and author Suzie Fletcher as its new charity Ambassador.
The master saddler and leather expert, known for her TV work and memoir The Sun Over the Mountains, is a life-long horse lover and recently welcomed Fliss, a part-bred Welsh section D into her life on loan.
After visiting the horse welfare charity the previous year, Suzie took part in Rewings’ first Book Festival in May 2024, where she did a Q and A in front of a sell-out crowd at Redwings’ Caldecott in Norfolk.

Suzie said she was delighted to take up the position of charity Ambassador.
“I feel so at home at Redwings, and I hope to be able to support all the great work this charity does for our equine friends,” she said.
“I have been nuts about horses forever. My dad used to joke that ‘horse’ was the first word I spoke.
“I remember making saddles for my rocking horse and my Cindy horse as a young child. With a father who was a watchmaker and a mother who was a skilled clothes-designer it’s really no surprise I have ended up where I have.
“I feel so lucky that I’ve been able to spend nearly 50 years working alongside these incredible animals and I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Redwings team.”

Redwings Ambassadors are not paid, and Suzie is donating her time to the charity for free.
“We’re over the moon that Suzie’s relationship with us here at Redwings has now been made official,” said Jennie Roberts, Redwings’ Social Media Manager.
“Ambassadors like Suzie can really help to spread the word about Redwings’ work.
“We are so excited to have this special connection with her, born out of a genuine shared love of horses and passion for horse welfare.”
