It has been confirmed that Zara Tindall will take part in the London International Horse Show’s inaugural London International Eventing Challenge at the Excel London in the evening performance on Friday 18 December.

Zara’s participation in the new competition was confirmed when she was a guest on an episode of the Talk Horse podcast. Part one of the podcast was released on Wednesday 7 October while part two, where Zara was joined by her husband Mike, came out this week.

“We’ve got some really exciting news,” said podcast host and former international event rider Pippa Funnell during part one.

“Our reigning National Champion, none other than Zara Tindall, has signed up to do the Eventing Challenge at London International Horse Show.”

Pippa’s co-host Tristan Phipps added: “The names get bigger and bigger – people are starting to get really excited about this!”

Star-studded entry list

Zara, who is a former World and European champion and is the reigning British Open winner, will join three members of Britain’s gold medal-winning team at this summer’s World Championships, Ros Canter, Tom McEwen and Gemma Stevens, in the competition. More names are set to be announced over the next few weeks.

The arena eventing competition, which will run at 3* level, has been developed in partnership with British Eventing. The combined showjumping and cross-country course will take place in the Show’s Main Arena and part of the collecting ring.

The London International Horse Show will take place at Excel in London from Thursday 17 – Monday 21 December. This year, HEROS Racehorse Charity will be its official charity partner.
