Spillers have kindly donated £2,000 worth of feed to Redwings Horse Sanctuary.

The equine feed producer made the kind offer to help support the charity through the coronavirus outbreak.

Redwings cares for 1,500 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules across the UK, and throughout the lockdown its vets and equine carers have continued to work hard to ensure they receive all the specialist care they need.

The donated feed comes at just the right time for the Sanctuary, which is 100% funded by donations from the public.

Due to the outbreak, the charity has had to close its visitor centres, cafes and gift shops which has impacted its ability to raise funds towards the care of its rescued residents.

Nicola Knight, Redwings’ Head of Communications and Campaigns, said: “This generous donation has been a real boost to our teams who have been working so hard in challenging circumstances to ensure our horses remain happy and healthy. It’s also a wonderful support at a time when we’ve seen a big impact on our fundraising – we can’t thank Spillers enough!”

Spillers have been supporters of Redwings for many years. Rescued miniature Shetland pony Moses recently featured in promotions for Spillers’ Happy Hoof feed, and he made sure to drop by to see the latest delivery of feed arriving at Redwings’ headquarters in Norfolk this week.

Redwings is 100% funded by donations from the public. If you think your company could also support Redwings through the coronavirus outbreak, please call 01508 481000 or email info@redwings.co.uk.
