Four new SEIB Search for a Star champions were crowned at Your Horse Live today (12 November).

SEIB Search for a Star Mountain and Moorland Championship

Simone Harrison piloted her Welsh section D Wishaw Red Admiral (pictured above and right) to land the mountain and moorland title

“The atmosphere was brilliant in there,” said Simone, who is a talent acquisition lead in fashion and overseas retail and has owned the chestnut since he was two.

She said she will be celebrating the victory “with some bubbles”.

“He took it all in his stride and seemed to love it,” added Simone.

Another section D stood reserve — Owfen Mr Softee, piloted by trainee accountant Zara Rudd — while the Fell Brackenbank Flicka finished third for owner/rider Jessica Everill.

SEIB Search for a Star Part-Bred Traditional Championship

Rosie Wrest and Lee Uttridge’s Branston Pickle were crowned the part-bred traditional champions.

“He did what he loves doing — showing off,” said Rosie of the 15-year-old gelding.

“He floated round and he lapped up every second — so did I!”

SEIB Search for a Star Open Veteran Championship

Abigail Sole and her 18-year-old ex-racehorse Hero Worship earned the highest score from the judges to land the open veteran title.

Another ex-racehorse, 18-year-old Valentine Jak, took second place for his owner Donna Bamonte, and was ridden by Marina Greenway.

Two horses shared third: Chief Exec — a 19-year-old ex-racehorse who is owned and ridden by Jeanette Stayt — and 25-year-old Who Dun It (Sarah Ward), who was the only horse in the class who isn’t an ex-racehorse.

SEIB Search for a Star Amateur Veteran Championship

Graphic designer Louise Chamberlain piloted her own 18-year-old Mystical Clover to amateur veteran glory.

Elly Hill piloted Sarah Hill’s 21-year-old Connemara Liskeran Dun Bobby into second, ahead of Millie Bowles and the 24-year-old Cottrell Riverdance (see below).

SEIB Search for a Star In-hand Championship

The judges chose Selina Bowles’ Welsh section B Cottrell Riverdance as their in-hand champion.
