A rider has died following an incident involving a motorcyclist on Sunday afternoon (9 July).

The incident took place at around 3.40pm on Bollands Hill, near Seend, Wiltshire. Police received reports that a horse and rider had fallen after the horse was spooked by a motorcycle approaching from a blind bend.

The rider – a woman in her 50s from Melksham – was fatally injured. Both the motorcyclist and the horse suffered minor injuries. No arrests have been made.

“Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time,” said a spokesman for Wiltshire Police.
