Those looking to gain an insight into their horse and equine welfare can gain a wealth of knowledge at the 2024 Horses Inside Out conference, with details of the event schedule recently released.

Varied topics such as conformation assessment, developmental issues, modern horse breeding and feeding practices will be explored by expert speakers online and in-person at the Holywell Conference Centre at Loughborough University.

World-renowned speakers include Kelly Marks, Gillian Higgins (founder of Horses Inside Out), Dr Sue Dyson, and many more celebrated experts in the equestrian sector.

Visitors can also explore the presentation stands in the Exhibition Zone, study the posters and speak to the authors in the Scientific Poster Area and examine specimens and anatomical sculptures in the Anatomy Exhibition.

From birth to old age

The two-day conference takes place on 17 and 18 February, with Growth and Development the central focus of the talks, which include:

  • Common developmental issues
  • Developmental abnormalities
  • Angular limb deformities
  • Recognising depression

The conference is aimed at riders from across the disciplines, therapists, trainers, saddlery professionals, farriers, podiatrists, dentists, lecturers, students, vets, breeders, grooms, equine business owners and anyone else interested in the health and welfare of the horse.

The event will be livestreamed to the online audience via Zoom. The event will also be available to re-watch online for 30 days after the event.

Horses Inside Out was founded by biomechanics specialist Gillian Higgins in 2006. It is an internationally recognised provider of equine education incorporating anatomy and biomechanics with the most recent scientific developments, alongside tried and tested traditional methods.
