Love going on holiday but miss your equine companion while on your travels? A new website catering for equestrians may be the perfect solution.

Horsenriderbnb allows riders to search for horse-friendly accommodation in the UK and Ireland, from glamping and B&Bs to camping or staying in your horsebox. All locations have either stabling or grazing, or both, so your horse can come with you wherever the destination.

The website was the dreamchild of best friends Jill and Zara, who say they share a passion for everything equestrian and travel related.

For more than 15 years they have run riding holiday company Zara’s Planet and have enjoyed planning riding adventures all over the world for their customers. When the pandemic stopped international travel, the pair began to search their own countries – Jill in Scotland and Zara in Ireland – for places to visit and ride.

They found a lack of resources sharing destinations they could take their horse on holiday,  so they decided to fill this gap in the market.

They have since launched Horsenriderbnb. Guests book directly with their host, and at the time of booking they are able to finalise details like stable bedding, forage, and local hacking routes.

This year they plan to increase the number of listings on the website and have been joined by Jill’s sister, Laura, who is looking forward to helping hosts add their properties.

“Horsenriderbnb.com has a great selection of destinations to visit from Aberdeenshire to Cornwall, with a variety of accommodation options including cottages, bell tents, glamping huts and B&B’s,” they said. “Choose riding over the Yorkshire Moors, beach riding in Wales, show jump training in Durham or ride outs on Dartmoor. There is an option to suit all horses and riders.”
