Preparations are well underway at the NAF Five Star Hartpury International Horse Trials, which will see household names compete for eventing success.

Harry Meade, Izzy Taylor and Andrew Hoy are just some of the names entered in the competition, with all three scheduled to enter the Superflex CIC3*.

The event, running from Aug 10-14, also includes the Recover CCI1* and the Magic CCI2*.

Saturday’s cross-country day is sure to provide some thrills and spills, with the course being designed by Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials course designer Eric Winter. Winter has also designed courses for top European championships, meaning that riders can expect a challenging round.

Dressage and showjumping will take place in Hartpury’s international arenas, which offer tiered seating for the perfect view.

The event will kick off on Wednesday 10, with the Dubarry Burghley Young Horse giving eventing fans the opportunity to see some up-and-coming horse stars.

Admission is free from Wednesday 10 August to Friday 12 August and only £10 per person on the Saturday and Sunday, with under-16s free throughout the event. There is also free car parking on site.
