British Eventing (BE) has introduced an exciting new opportunity for British Riding Clubs and Pony Club members to try eventing.

These riders will be able to enjoy a 40 percent new member discount on an introductory membership with BE, a reduction that will apply for two years, giving more riders the opportunity to train and compete with the organisation.

The introduction of this offer comes at an ideal time for young riders who want to begin eventing, with the minimum age to join BE having been reduced to 10 years.

BE has also launched a number of new initiatives to support those entering into the sport.

The Anyone Can Event (ACE) series is for riders of all ages and experience, offering classes from 70cm to 1m. It is an arena style eventing competition, where riders compete over a course of show jumps followed by a simulated cross country course of knock-down fences.

The series will run throughout the winter months and into spring, providing riders with the ideal opportunity to get out, develop their skills and enjoy competing during the shorter daylight hours – plus the chance to pick up a qualifying ticket for the Championship Finals, set to be held next spring at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.

Members that join now will also be able to benefit from reduced entry fees for BE’s Arena Eventing Series (open to riders from 12 upwards) which culminates at Aston Le Walls as the winter draws to a close ahead of the 2023 eventing season starting.

In addition, new members will be able to benefit from participating in a new regional training programme, which will be delivered via The Howden Way Regional Academy framework. The new programme will give riders access top-class training within their local BE community.

“We look forward to welcoming Riding Club members into the BE family and to provide them with additional opportunities to participate in our wonderful sport,” said Helen West, Chief Executive for British Eventing. “We are here to support all riders make the step into BE as easily as possible and working alongside the team at British Riding Clubs will allow us to do just that.”

Marcus Capel, Chief Executive of The Pony Club, added: “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with British Eventing in this way to benefit our members. Training is the core of what we do at The Pony Club and our members will now be able to enjoy this discipline-specific offering in addition to our wide range of coaching sessions, competitions and camps, together with our highly-respected progressive series of badges and tests.

“Working collectively in this way can only be of benefit to our members and we look forward to seeing many of our members, who started their eventing experience with ourselves, go on to have great success within British Eventing also.”

The offer is available for new BE members or those who haven’t been a member in the past three years. For more information, click here.
