The WeatherBeeta Green-Tec 900D Detach-a-Neck medium turnout rug is proving to be a great addition to my horse’s rug wardrobe.
Environmentally friendly
One of the first things to mention is that when you buy this rug you’re doing your bit for sustainability and helping the environment — this is a big plus point for me.
Each rug saves more than 340 bottles from going into the ocean or landfill and is made in a way that uses over 50% less energy. Its recyclable packaging is also made from PCR (post-consumer recycleable plastic).
A great fit
The fit of this rug is great — it just seems to follow the shape of my horse perfectly. It’s a good cut and depth for my Thoroughbred mare, plus the generous shoulder gussets ensure that this rug doesn’t move at all.
I’m pleased to say that after two months of use there are no signs of rubbing, which is great.
Warm and dry
My Thoroughbred mare can get quite warm even though she only has a blanket clip, so I’ve only been using this rug now that the temperature is much colder. She’s has been turned out in some heavy rain and the rug has kept her dry, while its 220g of polyfill keeps her warm but without making the rug heavy and bulky to handle.
The detachable neck is a big plus for me, as it makes the rug so much more versatile; on warmer days the neck can be removed, which suits my mare. The tail flap is a good size and shape, and offers further protection from the weather.
Easy to use
All the fastenings are good quality and quick and easy to use. The outer material is so far proving to be durable. All in all, this is an excellent rug — it’s well made, waterproof and warm.
In my opinion this rug is good value for money, although not light on the pocket but a worthwhile investment for your horse’s wardrobe which I would recommend to other horse owners and riders.
