Champion Equestrian has been appointed as the official safety partner of this year’s Defender Burghley Horse Trials (4-7 September).
The helmet and body protector creator is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, marking five decades of designing and manufacturing safety equipment that is handmade in Britain.
Champion will take a prominent role at this year’s event in Stamford, Lincolnshire, offering visitors expert safety fittings, live demonstrations, and access to the full Champion collection.
“Champion has been the trusted brand in rider safety for half a century, combining innovation, leading safety standards and proud British craftsmanship,” said Kerem Atasoy, CEO of Champion Equestrian.
“To mark this anniversary by joining forces with an event as prestigious as the Defender Burghley Horse Trials is a proud moment for us.
“Together, we’re championing a safer, stronger future for equestrian sport.”
Burghley tickets
Tickets are now on sale for this year’s horse trials.
Ros Canter is the reigning champion and Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is the event’s charity of the year.
New developments for the 2025 fixture include more bookable cross-country walks on the Thursday and Friday with famous names from the sport of eventing.
There will also be improved grandstand seating arrangements and extra spaces available in the campsite for horseboxes.
Cross-country course-designer Derek di Grazia has confirmed that he is reversing the direction of the five-star track this year.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming visitors to Defender Burghley in September for an extravaganza of exceptional sport, entertainment, shopping and a truly great day out,” said event director Martyn Johnson.
“Derek di Grazia’s new-look cross-country course will provide athletes and horses with a different and fascinating test, and we have many exciting additions to the Burghley programme to announce in the coming months.”
