British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) Executive Director, Claire Williams, has been named as one of the inspirational women on the Women in Trade Associations’ (WiTA) Powerlist 2023.

WiTA is an initiative from the Trade Association Forum (TAF), Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), which celebrates women in trade associations. From over 200 applicants, the top 100 were selected and the WiTA Powerlist was created to celebrate women in trade associations.

“It was a lovely surprise,” said Claire. “The list is made up of women from a wide range of industries and it’s a real honour to be on that list. Hopefully it will help to encourage more women into trade associations now and in the future too.”

The WiTA Powerlist was judged by nine business leaders from TAF, FSB, and CBI. 2023 is the inaugural year for the WiTA Powerlist.

Helping equestrians

BETA was formed in 1979 and has grown to be the official representative body for the equestrian manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade by government and leading riding organisations.

It is launching its spring Feed Fact Fortnight next month (1 April), and there will be plenty of opportunities for owners to get involved, learn, and bag themselves some exciting prizes from the leading names in the feed industry.

The fortnight will have a general focus on obesity in horses and how we as owners can look to address this from a feeding point of view. In addition, other relevant content will be shared by brands, helping to support horse owners as they move through spring and into summer.
