The Agria FEI Eventing European Championships take place on British soil for the first time in 10 years next week, at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire (17-21 September).

If you can’t attend in person but want to follow all the action on TV, here’s how you can do just that.

UK viewers

For UK viewers, the good news is that the BBC has announced that it will broadcast cross-country and showjumping phases live on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and the app.

Coverage will also be available to watch on demand for 30 days after the conclusion of the competition.

BBC broadcast schedule (all times BST, subject to change):

Saturday 20th September – 10:45 to 15:30

Sunday 21st September – 10:50 to 12:10 (Jumping – Group 1)

Sunday 21st September – 13:50 to 15:00 (Jumping – Group 2)

Global audience

The dressage, cross-country and showjumping will be available to watch live online and on demand through ClipMyHorse.TV/FEI.TV for viewers in the UK and abroad.

The GFS Saddles 8 & 9 year old class, which is taking place alongside the Agria FEI Eventing European Championships, will be live streamed on Horse & Country.

Two decades later

It will be the first time that Great Britain has hosted the European Championships since Blair Castle in 2015 and the first time they have taken place at Blenheim Palace since Zara Tindall won the title aboard Toytown in 2005.

Zara’s father Captain Mark Phillips is the cross-country course designer.

Reigning Olympic champions and current European winners Britain will start as favourites, but will face stiff opposition from strong French and German teams.

The British squad consists of two-time Olympic team gold medallists, Laura Collett on London 52 and Tom McEwen riding JL Dublin, as well as Yasmin Ingham with Rehy DJ.

Piggy March (Halo), Caroline Harris (D Day) and Bubby Upton (Its Cooley Time) complete the line up.

Defending champions

Britain are the reigning European team champions after victory at Haras du Pin in France in 2023, when Yasmin was a member of the gold medal-winning team and Ros Canter was crowned individual champion.

Team GB were also the victors at the Europeans in Switzerland in 2021, when a British whitewash saw the all-female squad win every individual medal as well: Nicola Wilson (individual gold), Piggy March (silver) and Sarah Bullimore (bronze).

If Britain takes gold again this year, it will be the 25th European team title.
