The RSPCA is appealing for information after a pony in poor body condition was found wandering roads in South Wales.

Now in the charity’s care, the chestnut youngster is making good progress despite their concerning background.

The pony taken in after being spotted wandering roads in Peterstone Wentlooge on 5 September.

“The RSPCA is appealing for information after a young pony in poor condition was found straying on a road in South Wales,” an RSPCA spokesperson told Your Horse.

“The youngster is now under the care of the RSPCA and receiving ongoing veterinary treatment and specialist care.”

Inspector Christine Styles, who leads the RSPCA’s specialist equine team said: “The young chestnut coloured pony is very underweight and we’re really concerned about how they came to be in such poor body condition.

“I’m keen to hear from anyone who recognises the pony and has any information. I can be contacted in complete confidence through our Inspector’s appeal line on 0300 123 8018.”

The pony is approximately 12-13hh tall, chestnut coloured with a white blaze. The pony was also wearing shoes when they were found.
