Six qualifiers, open to various levels of Endurance GB members, will take place before the final at The Red Dragon Festival of Endurance for Horses (26-28 September).
“This series of qualifiers is aimed at all of our members,” said the new Chair of Endurance GB, Larissa Whiley.
“Introducing new people to participate in the sport is vital for it to continue.
“With the support of such loyal sponsors as British Horse Feeds and The Golden Paste Company we can reach more potential riders and feel confident that our partners are with us for the long haul.”
Qualifier dates
The Festival is held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Powys, Wales, and the following qualifiers will take place:
- 11-13 July: Cirencester Park, Gloucestershire
- 3 August: Hexham, Cumbria
- 9-10 August: Avon Valley, Northamptonshire
- 24 August: Barbury Castle, Wiltshire
Two qualifiers have already taken place: Lavenham, Suffolk (7 June) and Boconnoc Estate, Cornwall (14-15 June).
There are three rounds at each level: foundation, novice, open and advanced.
The first round is to collect ‘Performance Formula’ points.
Round two is attend an area qualifier.
Round three is the national championships in September.
All three rounds must be completed in the same season.
For riders of all levels
“Continuing and building our relationship with Endurance GB was a natural thing to do,” said Branca Gebbie, business and trade manager for British Horse Feeds and sister company The Golden Paste Company.
British Horse Feeds is celebrating 15 years of sponsoring the Festival in 2025.
“We look upon the endurance community as our friends and look forward to seeing more riders join the fold with this new series of national qualifiers really encouraging riders of all levels to participate,” added Branca.
Ex-racehorses
This year’s endurance championships at the festival also includes special awards sponsored by Retraining of Racehorses (RoR). They will be awarded for the highest ‘Performance Formula’ score by a horse registered with RoR.
To be eligible, horses must have raced under Jockey Club rules in the UK.
