After a PHD in digestive physiology from Leeds and commercial work, Dr Tom Shurlock became a freelance nutritionist in 1996. He has been working with British Horse Feeds since 1997 and now specialises in the impact of nutrition on the metabolism, physiology and immune status of horses, alpacas and household pets.
