Hobby Horse Championships brought to you by Team Bloomfields

Brought to you by Team Bloomfields, the Your Horse Live Hobby Horse Championship is brand new to the show, so if you want to showcase your talents in our SEIB Arena on Saturday 8th November and compete for the chance to lift the first ever YHL Team Bloomfields Hobby Horse Freestyle Championship accolade.

Well now’s your chance to try and qualify!

– Virtual qualifiers will be judged with places & rosettes given up to sixth place, along with some Team Bloomfield goodies and a free pair of tickets to YHL.
– THE TOP THREE IN BOTH CLASSES WILL QUALIFY TO COME TO YHL ON SATURDAY 8th NOVEMBER TO COMPETE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
– All entries (unless you ask us not to) will be placed on our website for visitors to vote for their favourite in each class as the visitors ‘Wildcard’ winner and they will be invited to YHL to take part in the Championship too.

This is what you need to do to qualify:

Choose which class is appropriate for you

– Juniors (8-14 years)
– Seniors (15 years and older)

Create and practice your routine which must adhere to these rules:

– A freestyle routine to your chosen music which should not exceed 2 minutes
– The size of the arena will be standard Hobby Horse size and this will be marked out at the Championship – 7 x 21m

These moves must be in the performance:

– Piaffe for 12-16 consecutive steps
– Double pirouette in canter
– Double pirouette in piaffe
– One-tempi changes.

Once you’re happy, please video your routine and enter the class best suited for you, with a link to your video on youtube via either a live or unlisted (only those with a link can view) format on the entry form. Can you please put the class you’re entering as the video title along with the name of the competitor

Remember this is a fun class, so have fun with it, maybe dress up to suit your music choice, but most importantly SMILE.

Performances are judged on these sections:

– Movement/Coordination & Balance: 30 marks
– Energy & Interpretation of Music: 30 marks
– Overall Performance & Appeal: 40 marks

*Judges decision is final
