Mike Rutherford has shown his support for an auction being held in aid of equine charity, HorseWorld.
The musician, best known as a founding member of Genesis and Mike + The Mechanics, signed a guitar that the public will be able to bid for this week before the auction closes on Friday.
The guitar has already received an opening bid of £500, and it's hoped the item will help to raise hundreds of pounds for the charity.
HorseWorld’s Managing Director Mark Owen, Finance Director Nikki Light and Darren Sims went to the Colston Hall in Bristol last week to witness Mike signing the guitar and presented Mike with an exclusive HorseWorld Bristol Blue Glass penny.
The penny has been commissioned to mark the 65th Anniversary of the Charity, which was founded in 1952.
The pennies will be on sale as a limited edition item to raise funds for HorseWorld in 2017.
HorseWorld’s Mark Owen said: “I'm very grateful to Mike Rutherford and his team for agreeing to sign the guitar for our Charity Auction raising much-needed funds.
"I know that Mike and his family have a deep passion and love for horses and it was lovely to talk to him about the work of our charity and then present him with the very first of our 65th Anniversary Commemorative Pennies, made from Bristol Blue Glass.”
To place a bid on the guitar, you can bid on the Facebook page here. Bidding will close at Midday on Friday 10th March.
You can also donate to HorseWorld by texting HWOR77 £5 to 70070 (amounts of £1,2,3,4,5,10)
