Ever dreamed of cantering around the hallowed turf of Badminton Horse Trials, but in reality know that the huge CCI4* cross-country fences are well out of your reach?
Well, now is your chance to ride at Badminton — yes, really.
Your Horse magazine is taking its national #hack1000miles campaign to Gloucestershire next week (Wednesday 9 May), when the 12th Duke of Beaufort will open his gates for 50 people to ride around Badminton, and some spaces have become available.
As well as having fun, ticking a major thing off your bucket list (and adding to your #hack1000miles tally), you’ll be helping raise much-needed cash for the Avon Riding Centre for the Disabled, so that the charity can continue its great work enriching the lives of disabled adults and children through horses.
The ride is 10 miles in total. It’s your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to splash through the lake, get a riding selfie in front of the infamous Badminton house and Your Horse magazine is giving a goody bag to every finisher, thanks to our #hack1000miles sponsors Dublin, Wintec, NAF, SEIB and Baileys Horse Feeds.
The charity ride has happened annually since 2011 and Your Horse's editor, Aimi Clark, is one of the lucky few with a place.
“I’ve been visiting Badminton Horse Trials for years and am well aware that I’ll never be a good enough (or brave enough) rider to compete there, so the opportunity to ride around the estate and go in some of the places I enjoy watching the best riders in the world in action is super exciting,” says Aimi.
“I’m particularly looking forward to getting a picture of me and my horse in the lake.”

To sign up for the Badminton ride call the Avon Riding Centre’s office on 0117 959 0266.
The entry fee is £50 and there is a minimum sponsorship requirement of £200.
