The championships which have been sponsored by Dodson & Horrell since 2012 are the pinnacle of many aspiring show jumpers year. With qualifiers taking place around the country at a range of different heights, there really is something for everyone.
The amateur classes are run over four different heights of fences: 0.85cm, 0.95cm, 1.05m and 1.10m while the Veteran Riders’ Championship is split into minor and major categories.
Qualified riders compete in National Amateur Second Rounds, attracting hundreds of competitors. The classes are always hotly contested with the top 12 qualifying for the Championships. Securing a ticket to the final at Aintree Equestrian Centre at the end of the year truly is a great achievement.
