An American horse rider, Kate Grom, has released her debut album 'Heroine' which, she says, stays true to her horse-riding roots.

Kate, who lives between the West Village of New York City, and her family’s farm in the historic hills of western New Jersey, has ridden and shown horses all of her life and has now put her passion for horses into her music. This can be seen in her new music video for her single 'Whistle Cry', the lead song on her album.

The video was shot on Kate's family's Revelation Farms in New Jersey and features her five-time World Champion American Saddlebred 'Perfect Vengeance' and Arabian 'Beauty Queen. Her leading man (on screen and off!) is actor Chase Burnett.

Kate says horses have influenced her career as a performer to day. "Horses have pushed me to be the person I am now," she says.

'Heroine' was produced by the Grammy Award-winning Stewart Lerman, who has worked with Willie Nelson, Sharon Van Etten, Elvis Costello, Neko Case and Patti Smith, among others. The nine tracks feature world-class musicians who have recorded with artists including Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, My Morning Jacket, Brandi Carlile, Lana Del Rey and the Eagles, resulting in an album described by No Depression Magazine as ‘when country meets smooooth’.
