Racing alongside Marcus is CEO of the British Equestrian Federation, Clare Salmon, who first took up race riding at the age of 50 to compete in the Magnolia Cup at Glorious Goodwood.
Aged 52, Marcus only began riding last October, with him sitting on a thoroughbred for the first time in April this year. He will be riding a bay gelding named Moon Trip on Saturday.
HEROS (Homing Ex-Racehorses Organisation Scheme) is a charity dedicated to retraining and rehoming ex-racehorses after racing. You can read about Your Horse’s visit to HEROS here.
