Susi-Hartley-Reynolds from near Kings Lynn had a terrible accident nineteen years ago, which resulted in her having to use a wheelchair, but this didn’t stop her wanting to achieve her goals in life. “If you want to do something, do it,” says Susi.
Having ridden all her life, Susi’s passion for horses continued after the accident and now as a para dressage rider and show jumper she competes regularly and gives weekly demonstrations nationwide encouraging more disabled people to get into the saddle and take up riding. “I want to inspire people especially those with disabilities, to find a way to do things and never stop trying,” says Susi.
At present Susi competes in dressage and show jumping on her 16.3hh Belgium warmblood Summer who was previously a top-level show jumper and prior to that her Olympic short-listed horses Seamus. But to add to her challenges both Susi and her horses have had allergy problems with dust and pollen from hay, which has meant finding a solution to feeding her horses. Fortunately, Susi came across Haygain Hay Steamers, namely the HG600 and it has worked wonders.
