Equine charity numbers rise
Bransby Horses welfare centres have never seen as many equine cases
Equine welfare charity Bransby Horses, has taken in a significant amount of equines over recent months. At their Lincolnshire Centre they are now caring for 400 horses, donkeys and mules; the highest ever number in the charity’s 48 year history.
Bransby Horses other site in Herefordshire, cares for a further 79 equines making the total in the charity’s care up to 479 equines, which doesn’t include the further 354 who have successfully found foster homes.
Fortunately, in 2013, thanks to donations and legacies, a quarantine unit was opened to improve biosecurity and to enable the charity to better cope with the high number of equines in desperate need of help.
The Bransby Horses Lincolnshire Visitor Centre welcomes visitors 362 days a year where admission is free, but donations to continue their hard work are greatly received.
