The RSPCA have released a statement reassuring the public that their investigation of a girl filmed attacking a horse is ongoing.
An investigation was launched after a video of the girl was released online earlier this week and quickly went viral.
In the distressing video, believed to have been taken in Wales, a girl is seen repeatedly whipping a grey pony, which is tied up next to a wall. A second person is also seen in the video kicking the pony.
The statement comes as comments on social media had led many to believe that the RSPCA had called off their investigation.
Speaking to Your Horse, a spokesperson for the RSPCA explained that they couldn’t release details regarding the incident at the moment, but that their investigation was on-going.
In their statement, the RSPCA said: “This is an on-going investigation and we are continuing to make necessary enquiries.
"We are taking this matter very seriously, and thank everyone who has provided information to support this.
“We cannot comment further at this time, but would urge anyone with any further information to contact our 24-hour Advice & Cruelty Line on 0300 1234 999.”
