British Eventing have announced that the June 2016 fixture at Hopetoun International, in West Lothian, was the final time this event would be held at this impressive venue, as the Edinburgh based Horse Trials comes to a close.
The stunning house and grounds of Hopetoun have ran the International event since 2011, firstly as a CIC, then added CCI1* and 2* competitions to the schedule in 2013. The fixture became known for its true cross country test on the banks of the River Forth.
For competitors and spectators in Scotland there are still two International events to be enjoyed in the British Eventing calendar with Floors Castle (CIC1* and 2*) and the stunning Blair Castle (CCI1*, 2* and 3*) which is a test for any experienced eventer over the tough terrrain. Also on the positive side there will be an additional eventing fixture to add to the calendar at Kirriemuir Horse Trials (Angus) next year.
