Throughout the UK, people wanting to support and donate to RDA’s National Training Centre Project are joining Chairman Sam Orde on 20 ‘Big Ride RDA’ challenges.
With nine Big Rides completed so far, 200 people in England, Scotland and Wales have ridden, carriage driven, walked or vaulted on a horse to clock up a brilliant 1000 km! This has included 64 children and adults with disabilities, some of whom have found real achievement in managing to ride 2 or 3km and all of whom have loved the experience of being out in the beautiful British countryside with a horse!
“I have loved riding with people passionate about riding in the countryside and RDA,” says Sam, “and we are tremendously excited about this project, which will benefit RDA’s 482 volunteer groups throughout the UK.
“It is brilliant to see RDA members and generous supporters fundraising for our National Training Centre, which is important for RDA’s future ability to help children and adults with disabilities enjoy and benefit wonderfully from horses’.
With 12 ‘Big Ride RDA’ challenges left to go including at Shane Castle Ireland, the Highlands, Bushy Park London and Gatcombe Park the aim is to reach a total of 2000 km and raise lots of fund for RDA.
