4 horsey events for the Easter weekend

Fancy getting out and about this Easter weekend? Take a look at these events going on around the country. 


Easter Fun with the Only Foals and Horses Sanctuary

Where: Only Foals & Horses Sanctuary, Redshell Lane, Oswaldtwistle

Date: Easter Sunday

Cost: Free

Open all Easter weekend, with the main events on Sunday, come and say hello to the residents of the Only Foals and Horse's Sanctuary.

There will be opportunities to groom the ponies and an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday 2-4pm.

A variety of stalls, tombola’s, raffles and the opportunity to meet the horses. The Tea Room will be open 1-4pm all weekend for snacks and refreshments.

Online dressage with E-riders

Cost: From £10 per class

If you haven't got transport but fancy having a go at competing, why not arm yourself with a video camera and have a go at competing online. 

With classes ranging from Intro to Elementary (plus a couple of classes for bitless riders) there's something for everyone to have a go at.

Easter showing show 


Where: Houghton Le Spring

When: Sun 1 April 

Cost: Classes from £10 (entries close Fri 29) 

Whether you're entering a class, or just popping along for a day out, there's something for everyone at this Easter showing show.

From Mountain and Moorland classes to CHAPS qualifiers and rare breeds, horses of all shapes and sizes will be strutting their stuff at the show. 

Wilton Pony Club Open Hunter Trials

Where: Tidbit Down, Fordingbridge


When: Mon 2 April

Cost: From £18 for non-members 

Fancy trying your hand at a bit of cross-country? Why not pop down to this event run by Wilton Pony Club.

The lovely course is situated on undulating downland, with a mixture of traditional and portable XC fences.
