Riders will benefit from an upgraded collecting ring at this year's Great Yorkshire Show

Major work to upgrade the show jumping facilities at the Great Yorkshire Showground will be in place for this year's show in July. The project will take two months to complete with a £70,000 investment to improve the collecting ring. Half the ring will feature an Olympic standard all-weather surface thats' being provided by well-known arena surface provider Andrews Bowden. The surface being used was developed for the London 2012 Olympics and is endorsed by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).

Show jumping legend Graham Fletcher is part of the showjumping committee formed by YAS to ensure facilities are world-class and is fully behind the investment. “Any riders coming to the show for the first time this summer will be totally impressed," said Graham. "If the show committee wanted to run an international show it would have all the facilities needed for international classes once the work is carried out.”

Tickets are now on sale for the 159th Great Yorkshire Show 11 to 13 July 2017. Order online at www.greatyorkshireshow.co.uk
