Event rider remains 'under sedation' after Badminton fall

Event rider Emily Gilruth, who had a fall at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials on Saturday, has had a stable night, but remains under sedation. 

Emily suffered a traumatic brain injury after her fall at the third fence and had to be airlifted to Bristol's Southmead hospital. 

Doctor's are pleased with her progress and Emily's family have thanked well-wishers for the supportive messages they have received. 

British Eventing have asked that the privacy of the family is respected at this time, but have thanked Badminton's medical team for their efficient and very caring service, and the staff in the intensive care unit at Southmead.
