As the day draws to a close Micheal Jung stays firmly in top place, but other riders make huge gains in the afternoon dressage at Burghley.
The afternoon dressage saw Micheal Jung's 38.9 remain undefeated. Commenting on La Biosthetique - Sam FBW's ease in the arena, Micheal said to the Burghley Press Team "It wasn’t always easy for him with the atmosphere, but we have learnt together and I now know how to prepare him so he can enjoy it."
There was also good news for Gemma Tattersall, who was chuffed to scoop a PB on Arctic Soul with a score of 43.0.
“He’s very shy, so the key is him feeling confident, rideable and relaxed," said Gemma to Burghley's Press Team. "He allowed me to place him so that all of his movements were correct. I spent ages on the arena walk yesterday, reassuring him and patting him.”
First-timer at Burghley USA Rider Mackenna Shea who is just 24-years-old, also did well with her horse Landioso, pipping Paul Tapner by just 0.1 to jump to third place with an impressive score of 46.1.
The dressage returns to Burghley again tomorrow morning at 10am. You can tune into the livestreaming on the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials Facebook and Twitter pages.
