Learn how stretches can help to keep your horse happy and healthy

This day course is takes place on Saturday 3 June and is suitable for all horse owners. The course will take place at Derby College, Derbyshire.

Gillian Higgins, Anatomist, BHS Senior Coach, Author, Sports and Remedial Therapist for Horses and Humans will pass on her knowledge and techniques. By the end of the day you'll be confident to go home and use the exercises on your own horse. 

In the morning, you’ll learn all about the anatomy of the muscular and skeletal system in relation to riding and training. You’ll also discover why correct posture is so important, how to assess and improve it.

In the afternoon, the course will look at stretching and Pilates-style in-hand exercises. Using these on your own horse will help improve posture, core strength and stability, as well as working on his balance, coordination, physical and mental relaxation.
