There is a new Working Show Horse/Pony class to be included into the 2017 Search for a Star schedule, which will replace the Working Hunter, Riding Club Show Horse and Show/Show Hunter Pony classes. At the moment they think competitors will be asked to jump two easy fences and complete an individual show in front of the judges, rather than their horses being ridden by a ride judge. This means that adults and children can compete on either horses or ponies of any show type. The judges will be on hand to offer expert advice in the ring providing riders with valuable tips.

The SEIB Racehorse to Riding Horse Show Championship encourages the re-education of ex-racehorses, retraining them and preparing them for a new career as show horses. There are six qualifiers across the country with winners taking home a prize HOYS ticket.

The 2017 Search for a Star and Racehorse to Riding Horse qualifiers will be held at:

23 April – Osbaldeston Riding Centre, Blackburn, Lancs.

21 May – Stretcholt Equestrian Centre, Bridgwater, Somerset

18 June – The College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe, Bedford

16 July – Bury Farm Equestrian Centre, Slapton, Bucks

6 Aug – Vale View Equestrian centre, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire

3 Sept – (Racehorse to Riding Horse qualifier only) Burghley Horse Trials, Stamford, Lincs.
