The eighth Mongol Derby has officially started as 41 riders from 13 countries galloped over the start line today to compete in the 1000km race across Mongolia.
The Mongol Derby is featured in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s longest and toughest horse races over some of the world’s most barren terrain. This race will test some of the most skilled and fittest riders to complete this ride. Initially William Comiskey from Australia led the way, but has since been overtaken by Heidi Telstad from Canada.
