National Give Horses a Go weekend (17 – 18 September) organised by the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) is allowing individuals the chance to experience horse riding and carriage driving for free at over 50 venues across the UK.
Following the success of British horse riders at the Rio Olympics, the BEF is hoping that those inspired by these athletes or those wishing to try this activity come along to one of the participating venues.
Last year the BEF’s Give Horse a Go event saw over 40 riding centres open their doors to over 2,000 people with 330 booking lessons on the day of the event. BEF’s hopes is to double last year’s attendance by widening its reach and encouraging everyone, of all ages to join in.
“Horse riding is an activity that anyone, regardless of age, ability or background can have a go at. It really is a sport of well-being for the mind, body and spirit and we hope to encourage as many people as possible to get involved and join the ride” said BEF Head of Participation, Anna Hall.
