Last weekend at Skipton Horse Trials, North Yorkshire’s Judith Bennett who’s no stranger to the Badminton turf saw her book her fourth ticket to the Mitsubishi Motors Cup, after claiming the BE100 Regional Final win on board her own 12-year-old gelding Legato II. There were only 2.2 penalties between them and second placed Sarah Colgan who rode the nine-year-old gelding Machno Radience. In third place, was another 2016 Mitsubishi Motors Cup veteran, Samantha Jimmison, aboard Mrs Josie Robinson’s eight-year-old Dayton di Villa Lori.
After record entries, Skipton saw two sections of BE90RF and it was Hannah Dennison from Lancashire who took section M on Deel Boy having only started BE eventing last year. Second place went to Becky Hartley from Staffordshire and EMC Its Showtime. In section N the title went to 2016 BE90 Mitsubishi Motors Cup competitor Laura Greenhalgh on board Stanhopes Travelling Man, while Jessica Sutton won her first ever qualification ticket to the Mitsubishi Motors Cup on Pippa III, after they finished in second space.
