The equestrian sport of endurance is on the up as Endurance GB has reported that total membership has risen by 8% when compared with this point last year.
“The membership figures are promising and we look forward to cementing and building upon this increase during the remainder of the competitive season,” says Endurance GB Chairman, John Hudson.
The increase in membership is partly due to Endurance GB’s Club Membership scheme, which focuses on increasing participation of the sport within the Pony Club, Riding Clubs and Retraining of Racehorses.
Endurance is the fastest growing equestrian sport in the world with it holding the second highest number of FEI events. As it’s one of the most accessible equestrian disciplines, and can supplement any horse’s chosen career path, the sport is sure to develop further in the UK.
