Equifest Helps Celebrate Dales Pony Society Centenary

This year marks 100 years of the Dales Pony Society and at Equifest in August (17-21) you can enjoy special displays and activities marking the occasion.

Held at the East of England Showground, Equifest always offers up five fantastic days of competition, shopping and entertainment. The Dales Pony Society will be there too, hosting a breed stand throughout the show. There will also be a very special Musical Ride Display on the Saturday as part of the evening performance with eight Dales ponies showcasing the fantastic qualities of the breed.

The Dales Pony is a breed well known for its strength, hardiness, stamina, courage, intelligence, and good temperament.

The history of the modern Dales Pony is strongly linked to the history of lead mining in the Dales area of England, from the Derbyshire Peaks to the Scottish Borders and was originally a working pony descended from a number of breeds.
