Around this time of year, when the grass stops growing and it starts getting cold and muddy and horrible, I bring my two horses in the stable over night. My cob gelding is fine, however my tb mare sometimes gets this cough. Often I come out in the morning to find little globs of what looks like mucus-gunk on the floor, and her breathing is often very rattley. Once she's been turned out again though it disappears.
