Hi I have a connemara gelding who I have owned for a year and his little companion mare.  Two days ago I picked up another older connemara and I am having a nightmare with my own connemara.  He has turned from a calm safe pony to an excitable nervous lunatic.  He hates any of the other two being removed first and is generally being a pain continually calling if I hack him out.  The new one is being fairly quiet considering he hasnt been here very long. 

How can I help my connemara (he is 7) to settle down.  He ...

 i recently lost my horse over xmas 2014 and i wasnt actively looking for a new friend then a friend mentioned about her friend who had a pony that had to be rehome or she will get shot. she is a 10yr old connemara who went out on loan for a month and got gven back as they couldnt stop her and she had a few bucks and a rear. i went to see her and took her out (forgot to say she has slight parrot mouth) anyway i rode her down the lane shes was fine very forward going ...

Bitless Bridles

 I own a 14 year old thoroughbred who has been in a snaffle the whole 8 years i have owned her, she is very responsive to my body and voice comands and is genrally a really good girl. I and thinking of trying her in a bitless bridle as i just like the concept of them, i have never ridden in one but have ridden in halters and she is really good.

I have read a few forums that have said their horses are good in halters then they try a bitless bridle and thier horses hate it.
