Shakira saves the day

I used to go to a riding school in Italy. At some point we got this mustang.

of course nobody was allowed to ride him except for the instructers and the extremely good riders, at least not until they break him in completely.

well that day never came. he was always tempermental, and just when you thought you could ride him without a problem he would try and rear you off. (luckily since we had a small pong partially surrounding the training ring everyone fell into the water.)

anyways here is where the story really starts.

i was late for my lesson and the only horse available to ride was Alibi (the mustang.) since the lesson had already started (they were practicing dressage. to shakira) i just stood there with alibi, where i watched and waited for the next lesson to start.

the song was really up beat so i started tapping my toes on the ground. that's when i head loud hoofbeats behind me. i turned around and i saw that alibi was also sort of tapping the ground with his hoof. so i stopped tapping immediately because i thought it was irritating him. (he also stopped.) after a while my head started bobbing up and down (i tend to do that when i'm bored)

and i notice that the reins in my hand started lightly pulling themselves away from me then they came back. so i looked at alibi and HIS head was bobbing up and down too!

the next lesson started and i brought Alibi into the ring, i mounted and then we walked around the ring waiting for everyone else to mount.

the whole lesson passed and Alibi hadn't even tried to throw me off once, he acted like a sweet untempermental horse! from then on there was always a special sort of conection between us.

if it weren't for shakira's song i totally bet that Alibi would have thrown me off like he does to everyone else.
