Lindsay Cope is one of the latest thermographers to join Veterinary Thermal Imaging (VTI), the largest UK company specialising in animal thermography across all species.

Lindsay comes to VTI from an animal behaviour background and has a particular passion for pain-related behavioural problems in all species. In addition to working with horses and companion animals (holding postgraduate qualifications in companion animal behaviour and training), Lindsay has also spent time at the Animals Asia Foundation China Bear Rescue Centre in China, looking after bears. In addition, Lindsay has partially completed her training towards her TTouch Certification, and hopes to qualify as a practitioner in the near future.

“I have a lot of experience with companion and wild animals, but I have been around horses from a young age and have a passion for them,” says Lindsay. “My mother and uncle owned thoroughbreds, a number of whom where ex-racehorses, so you could say I’ve been involved with horses for as long as I can remember.”

Lindsay has a particular passion for animal behaviour and has studied pain related behaviour with horses, as well as other companion animals.

“We are thrilled to have Lindsay on board,” says Helen Morrell, Managing Director of Veterinary Thermal Imaging. “Lindsay’s passion for pain related behavioural problems and the use of thermal imaging to help identify this is already proving really valuable and useful to our clients and vets. All of our thermographers undergo intensive training before they join the team so, whilst behaviour is a particular passion, Lindsay also has the knowledge and ability to carry out all of the other services we offer. Whether this is a pre purchase examination or anything else.”

Lindsay is based in Bath but is available to thermograph animals in the surrounding counties. If you fall outside of this area, VTI’s thermographer network will find someone able to come and scan your animal.
