Miniature horse owners in the North of England will have the chance to show off their mini marvels at Leigh and District’s club competition on April 29th.

The club will be holding qualifiers for the Miniature Horse of the Year Show, which will be held at Arena UK, in Grantham, in September. It is the first time the club has held special qualifiers for miniature horses.

Affiliations secretary Erin Rowan said: “On the back of a few requests from our members we are hosting miniature horse classes this season at Leigh and District. The top three miniature horses in each class will qualify for the Miniature Horse of the Year Show to be held at Arena UK on Saturday September 29th and Sunday September 30th 2012.”

These are affiliated to the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain and the International Miniature Horse and Pony Society.

The club hold their competitions at Landlords Farm Equestrian Centre, in Dicconson Lane, Westhoughton.

They will also be offering a host of other qualifiers at the show, including for the British Connemara Pony Society Tam O'Shanter Championship, The Gypsy Cob Association championship and the Veteran Horse Society championship, as well as Equifest, Ponies UK and UK Showing qualifiers.

Showjumpers will have the opportunity to qualify for the North West Showjumping Championships, which will be held on August 25th and 26th.
