I had such a great week last week - a Private Lesson with Charlotte Dujardin, a Your Horse Clinic with Claire Lilley and a team day with Sarah Kreutzer - by the time the weekend came around I was exhausted but there was no time to rest.
I donned my winter woollies and digital camera and headed down to Hartpury College for the 2011 British Dressage Convention! It was a fantastic day that saw some great demos from members of the Bartels family. Imke and Tineke Bartels were both on hand to answer the public’s questions throughout the day and the wide variety of stalls including The National Saddle Centre (who also supported the event) and Centaur Biomechanics provided a great opportunity for a spot of lunchtime shopping.
It was such an interesting day with some fantastic horses and riders in the demos including Para-Dressage rider, Sophie Wells and dressage rider, Lisa Marriott, who’s trained with Richard Davison and the Bartels family for many years and reached Grand Prix level this year.
The Convention was held on both days over the weekend and the Saturday session that I attended was so popular the seats were full up - not that anyone seemed to mind standing for such a great event.
It’s going to be a hectic few weeks on the lead up to Christmas but I’m looking forward to every bit of it (before collapsing into my Christmas pudding at the end of it!)
