Somersham based dressage rider and trainer, Tara Osborn, has triumphed at the British Hanoverian Horse Society Show with her 5 year old mare, Love Me Tender.
Tara and Love Me Tender not only won the Akkord Challenge cup for the leading five-year-old horse, but also won a top mare performance grading, aimed at breeding future champions.
The Akkord Challenge cup is awarded to only a few horses, and requires excellent all round performance over two days of intense testing.
Tara discovered Love Me Tender (known at home as LM) as a youngster in the West Country, and has carefully developed her over the last year to establish her as a top
“I couldn’t be more thrilled with LM. To have such a success is really satisfying and I look forward to continuing her competition career for a year or two before she has a foal,” said Tara.
LM and Tara don’t have long to rest on their laurels, Tara runs her own livery and training yard, and with a magazine photo shoot and a training clinic later this week they are both going to be busy – look out for them in next month’s ‘Four Exercises to improve bend’ (on sale November 4 - December 1 ).
Hanoverian horses are the world’s leading horse breed for dressage, sweeping the board at the last Olympics. The British Hanoverian Horse Society show is the top event for the breed in the UK.
