Great result for junior show jumpers

Britain’s junior show jumpers took four of the seven top spots in the international Junior Grand Prix in Belgium yesterday.

The Tretorn Junior Squad all jumped their hearts out to secure this great result. With only three riders managing a clear in the first round over a technical track, 16-year-old Pippa Allen rode her father Peter Allen’s nine-year-old bay gelding Bonfire III into second spot after having an unfortunate four faults in the second round.

Pippa has been sponsored by Mountain Horse for the past six years, after the equestrian clothing company spotted her talent at a young age. She can now frequently be spotted modelling clothes in their brochures.

Carian Scudamore, also 16, rode her father Nigel Scudamore’s bay mare Angel III to fifth place, after having an unfortunate four faults in the first round.

Donald Whitaker took sixth with Miss T Wilkins bay gelding Helix Z, and 17-year-old Alison Barton, riding her dad Richard’s bay gelding Saffier van de Brandkreek into seventh place.
