We are extremely sad to report that the dressage star featured in our latest issue’s Private Lesson, Jane Gregory, has died. She passed away on Friday after suffering a heart attack earlier in the week. Our thoughts are with her husband Aram Gregory, her family and friends.
Born in England on June 30, 1959, Jane – maiden name Bredin - began her international career in 1994 when she competed at the World Equestrian Games. She rode at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 on Cupido.
She then didn’t compete internationally due to a lack of horsepower for several years but in 2001 she was first in the small tour rankings and made a full comeback in 2006 when she won the Grand Prix and the Special with her horse Lucky Star at the Munich, Germany CDI. Two years later she was riding on the British team at the 2008 Beijing Games.
The sport has lost a real talent and the British team will no doubt feel the loss of her wisdom and experience.
